The idea of the kaleidoscope is essential for my wind quintet from 2009. Rapid changes in register and the relationships between the instruments create a network of sounds that is constantly changing and transforming. Playful and expressive sections alternate and increasingly interweave towards the end. All five instruments are given rewarding tasks in terms of virtuosity, expressiveness and interplay.
